Efekta Impact Story // 25th May 2026
Efekta Education partners with school systems facing teacher shortages. In many countries, educators are asked to teach subjects such as English, mathematics, and science without specialist training because there are simply not enough qualified teachers. The result can be a difficult cycle: students struggle to make progress while teachers become increasingly overstretched.
Efekta helps address this challenge through an AI-powered teaching and learning platform that supports both educators and learners.
The need for more personalized support is especially clear in language education.
Like students everywhere, young people in Brazil learn at different speeds. Those who grasp new concepts quickly may have to wait for the rest of the class, while students who need more time can feel pressured or fall behind. A more adaptive approach allows each learner to progress at an appropriate pace while giving teachers better tools to support the entire classroom.
To strengthen English-language education in Brazil, Efekta launched an innovative partnership with the state of Paraná in 2022. Efekta has since expanded the program to Mato Grosso, São Paulo, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Rondônia. Through these partnerships, students and teachers use the Efekta platform together, improving the learning experience while building teachers’ skills and confidence.
The results are reflected clearly in the data. In a state-administered English assessment involving 750,000 students in Paraná, learners using Efekta improved their scores by 32.5% over two years.
“EF has in its DNA an understanding that immersive experiences help students to achieve fluency much quicker.”

Personalized English lessons for all
Now, Efekta is ready to take the next step in providing personalized English education to students across Latin America with their new AI-powered platform. As of September 2025, Efekta launched its new platform to 4 million student learners in Brazil, giving them access to English learning tailored to their level and continuously evolving based on progress and learning style. It is the world’s largest trial of AI teaching and tutoring to date.
At the heart of Efekta’s agentic teaching platform are two interconnected components.
Efekta gives every student a personal AI Learning Companion that provides one-to-one support through immersive simulations, personalized practice, and instant feedback – and dynamically adapts to individual learning styles, needs, and progress levels.
Classroom teachers are supported with an Agentic Teaching Assistant: helping teachers plan lessons, analyze progress and focus on who needs support the most—giving educators real-time insight into student progress and practical guidance on what to do next in the classroom. The tool also enables school administrators and government leaders to gain vital indicators to track learning progress across cohorts, schools and regions.
Classroom teachers remain central to learning. Efekta does not replace them. Instead, teachers are freed up to focus more of their time on motivating students, supporting individuals, and bringing lessons to life through group activities and discussion.
Students learn better because they receive clear explanations and help exactly when they need it. Teachers feel more confident because they are no longer required to teach subjects they don’t know well.
“Those who develop faster, become more independent, so I can dedicate more attention to those who need a little more help.”
In the coming years, Efekta plans to roll the platform out to tens of millions of students across the world. This means millions of students will receive the type of personalized English tutoring they would otherwise be unable to access.
